Products for gel polish and natural nail strengthening

Gel polish as a service has rapidly changed its form. Originally, gel polish was very similar to normal nail polish; it was just cured under a UV light. At that time, the durability of gel polishes was not very long, and the service began to evolve and develop.

The modern way to do gel polish, and the way I train and do my clients' gel polish, is very durable. My clients' gel polish stays beautiful for up to 5 weeks. Of course, durability is always a very individual matter, and a professional understands what is realistic for each client.

As an instructor, I favor light strengthening of the natural nail under gel polish. Gel polish adheres better to a strengthened nail, and the natural nail does not break or crumble underneath. Gel polish alone is rarely strengthening in itself, so a flexible base gel or a harder builder gel is needed underneath. Different manufacturers have different names for base gels, and in Finnails' selection, all these products are suitable for flexible and durable strengthening of the natural nail:

- NAILS Cosmetics Quick Rubber Base

Both of these gels are perfect for strengthening natural nails and as a base gel for gel polish and builder nails. The clear rubber base is an excellent choice for natural nails, and I always choose one of these gels whenever I perform any nail service. A flexible gel conforms to the movement of the natural nail, making it more durable.

If you use gel polishes, you can build a beautiful shape directly with these clear rubber base products.

Tip: To get a beautiful shape on the nail, turn the client's finger downwards for a moment before curing the gel. This way, gravity shapes the nail for you, and the gel does not flow into the nail folds.

If your client's nail needs even more support (long and/or brittle nail), choose an additional strengthening gel in addition to Rubber Base. For example, Hey's Smart Gel or all builder gels from NAILS Cosmetics.

Remember to always choose the primer from the same product line as the gel. So, if you use NAILS Cosmetics, choose their primer, and the same applies to Hey products. All primers can be found in the liquids category.
